A new Launch at The Country Trader

The Country Trader announces the arrival of RLH Collection by Ralph Lauren Home to its Waterloo showroom. The unique collection of furniture, inspired by the world of Ralph Lauren has never before been available in Australia and will occupy a dedicated space within The Country Trader (TCT) showroom in order to showcase the array of pieces available for purchase by the discerning TCT customer.

Ralph Lauren is renowned for creating intricate cinematic lifestyle collections that transport one to a distinctive place, whether a bohemian Parisian pied-a-terre, a sophisticated industrial loft or a romantic country estate. The RLH design teams comb auctions, markets and dealers’ wares from around the world to find the eclectic one-of-a-kind pieces that accent Ralph Lauren flagships and showrooms. While consistently garnering attention and eliciting desire from customers, these rare finds have never before been available for purchase, until now.

This is the first collection based exclusively on the distinctive antiques that have always been a quintessential and coveted element in the world of Ralph Lauren. RLH pays homage to distinctive American and European antiques with their variety of stylistic influences.  Many of the pieces are faithful to the originals they reference, while others have been re-imagined to reflect contemporary needs. Authentic craftsmanship such as hand-carving, patinated finishes, burnished leather and period construction details, define these eclectic furnishings.

The RLH Collection features hand-forged iron or cast-brass hardware and is built of solid wood and reclaimed timber.  The upholstery collection features vintage textiles, hand stitched details, and, as seen on the Hepplewhite Wing Chair, exposed construction elements.  Single pieces, such as the Petit Fauteuil, inspired by an original from the 1700s, takes artisans up to 80 hours to achieve the desired patina and in keeping with the artisanal spirit of the collection, no two pieces are alike.
