Domain-Italian Style
Crumbling Madonnas, Roman marble ruins, lifesize Renaissance heads, Gondola lanterns...
Click to enlarge that's what Geoffrey Clarke found when he ventured to northern Italy earlier this year. To celebrate Design Week, the Country Trader chief has teamed up with the Design Institute of Australia and the Powerhouse Museum for Italian Style, showcasing Italian design and decoration. More than 300 amazing pieces go on show (and sale) tomorrow. There are landscape paintings, a rare bookcase with an eye-catching blue lacquer finish, a superb walnut refectory table, an 18th-century Milanese chandelier, a pair of Baroque Carrara marble water spouts and some terrifically pretty chairs.
Until August 25
